    Inscribed ‘Painted by J. W. Wright. Engraved by J. Cochran. HERBERT MARSH, D.D. LORD BISHOP OF PETERBOROUGH. FISHER. SON & Co. LONDON 1838’ with facsimile signature.

    Herbert Marsh, Bishop of Peterborough, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1801.
