Half length portrait of Hugh Percy, 2nd Duke of Northumberland, seated three-quarters to the right as viewed, in garter robes, his left hand touching his cheek.
Inscribed on separate paper ‘Hugh, Duke of Northumberland. F.R.S. F.S.A. &c’ and pencilled '1788'.
Hugh Percy, 2nd Duke of Northumberland was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1788.
