Description
Marine zoological study of Cymbulia peronii, the gastropod known as the Venus slipper. The author stated that his specimens were brought from the Indian Ocean.
Proof illustration accompanying the manuscript version of the paper ‘On the general characters of the Genus Cymbulia’, by John D. Macdonald, Proceedings of the Royal Society, v.38 (1884), pp.251-253. The final figure was printed on p.252 of the published paper.
Sir John Denis MacDonald was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1859.
