Sir Kingsley Charles Dunham (1910-2001), British geologist and mineralogist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1955 and served on its Council between 1964-1966, 1971-1976, as Foreign Secretary between 1971-1976 and Vice President between 1971- 1976. He was awrded the Society’s Royal Medal in 1970 ‘in recognition of his distinguished contributions to pure and applied geology, and especially in the field of metallic ore deposits’.
