Christopher Hinton, Baron Hinton of Bankside (1901-1983), British nuclear engineer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1954. He was awarded the Society’s Rumford Medal in 1970 ‘in recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering and of his leadership of engineering design teams in the chemical and atomic energy industries and in electricity generation’.
