Registering
The website is available for all to browse and search but registering allows you to make full use of the functions, enabling you to save lightboxes and purchase and download images.Your Account
When logged in to the website you will be able to access your account page to check on the status of current orders, access links to previous orders, and update your contact details. Buying images
Once you have added the images you would like to purchase to the basket (we advise that you login before doing this to ensure your basket contents are saved), you will be directed to proceed to checkout. Select the usage rights you require from the dropdown lists, the price calculator will then show the fee due. You can choose to exclude images at this stage by ticking the relevant box under the image, the image will remain in your basket ready for you to purchase another time if you choose.
On the checkout page you will also be asked to fill in some additional details about your project:
Project title/name: i.e. the title or working title of your book/ article/thesis/documentary
Project description: further information on the image usage. i.e. the journal in which your article will be published/the publisher of your book/the TV channel on which your documentary will be aired.
End client: the name of the client who will be using the licensed image
When selecting from the usages you require and entering your project details, please be as accurate as possible as these details will be recorded on your Image Licence.
Once you are ready to purchase your images, click 'pay by card' and you will be transferred to a WorldPay secure site to enter your card details.
Downloading your order
Once payment has been cleared by WorldPay you will be transferred back to this website where you will be able to download your order (you will also be sent an email containing the download link). The download zip file will contain your images (as high resolution jpegs); your Image Licence stating the specific rights you have purchased and the credit line/s to be used; and a copy of the Terms and Conditions you agreed to upon registering. Using lightboxes
Lightboxes allow you to store images from your searches. You can use the lightbox manager to create, rename and edit. You can also share your lightboxes with colleagues and friends.Restricted images
Some of the images are tagged as restricted (indicated by an ‘R’ in the top left of the image). This means that clearance has to be given by picture library staff before these images can be purchased and downloaded.Applying for a credit account
If you wish you wish, you can apply to be a credit account holder. If successful, this will give you the option of requesting an invoice at the point of order. Invoices will be sent to you by email and should be paid within 30 days.Credit account holders should please be sure to inform us of any change of billing address.

Images can be downloaded for free for the following uses:- Classroom resources to include printed handouts and powerpoint presentations.
- Unpublished student theses & dissertations.
