Description
Landscape view of the house and gardens belonging to John Coakley Lettsom, seen from the south. The villa has a greenhouse to one side, in front of which is a gardener working on the beds. A family group is shown on the lawn in front of the villa and this includes a child in a carriage.

The plate is inscribed: “Samuel Delint. Medland Sculpt. A South View of a Villa at GROVE HILL, CAMBERWELL, SURRY, belonging to John Coakley Lettson, M.D. To whom this Plate is most humbly Inscribed by his most obedient Servant. James Edwards.
John Coakley Lettsom (1744-1815) was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1773.
