    Description
    Zoological study of the sailfin lizard, here styled Lacerta amboinensi now Hydrosaurus amboinensis, in a natural landscape. The Amboina sailfin lizard is a reptile native to Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and the Philippines.

    Plate from the monograph Brief van Johannes Albertus Schlosser...Behelzende eene naauwkeurige Beschrijving der Amboinsche haagdis (Amsterdam 1768). Inscribed: “G.Dadelbeek delineavit. S. Fokke sculpsit.”

    Jan Albert Schlosser (1733-1769) Dutch physician, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1756.
