    Zoological studies of the Asiatic softshell turtle, or black rayed softshell turtle, here styled Testudine cartilaginea, now, Amyda cartilaginea. This semi-aquatic freshwater reptile is native to Southeast Asia. Two views, back and underside.

    Plate from the monograph Brief van Pieter Boddaert...Behelzende eene naauwkeurige Beschrijving...van den Kraakbeenige schildpad... (Amsterdam 1770). Inscribed: “III Br. G. Dadelbeek pinxit. F.de Bakker fecit.”

    Pieter Boedaert (1730 or 1733-1795) was a Dutch physician and naturalist.
