    Description
    Marine biological studies of the Royal or regal angelfish, here styled Chaetodonte diacanthio, now Pygoplites diacanthus. This fish is a native of the Indo-Pacific region. Side view of the fish, with details of the head seen from the front and two smaller details.

    Plate from the monograph Brief van Pieter Boddaert...Behelzende eene naauwkeurige Beschrijving...van den Tweedoornigen Klipvisch... (Amsterdam 1772). Inscribed: “V Br. G. Dadelbeek pinxit. F.de Bakker fecit.”

    Pieter Boedaert (1730 or 1733-1795) was a Dutch physician and naturalist.
