    Zoological studies of three snakes from the south-western United States of America and Mexico, with five details. Figure 1 Rouleau de Botta (Tortrix Bottae), the Northern rubber boa [modern taxonomy Charina bottae]. Figure 2 La Couleuvre porte-chain (Coluber catenifer) the Gopher snake [modern taxonomy [Pituophis catenifer]. Figure 3 La C. infernale (C. infernales) the California red-sided garter snake [modern taxonomy Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis]. Figures 1 A-B, 2 A-B and 3A are details of the head of each reptile.

    Henri Marie Ducrotay de Blainville (1777-1850), French zoologist and anatomist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1832.
