Description
The plate illustrates pp.51-61, ‘A continuation of the Experiments on the Attrition of Glass’ and ‘Some farther Experiments relating to the Electricity of Glass’.
Plate VII from Physico-mechanical experiments on various subjects, by Francis Hauksbee (London, 1709), presented to the Royal Society by the author on 26 October 1709.
Hauksbee (ca.1660 – 1713) was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1705, and was the Society’s Curator of Experiments from 1703 to 1713.
