    Description
Snowflakes drawn and described by Leonard Stocke as falling between 2 January and 1 March 1740 and 25 December to the 31 December 1740 at Middelburg, Zeeland, in the Netherlands. A contemporary translation of his accompanying text reads: “You will excuse my troubling you with the enclosed observations upon Snow; I thought the extraordinary and extremely regular figures of it, very well deserved being recorded. If any of them should appear ill shaped, you will ascribe it rather to my little skill in drawing, than to the Snow itself...”

Figures 1-24 appended to a letter from Leonard Stocke, Middelburg, 29 June 1741, to Cromwell Mortimer. Not published in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society.

Leonard Stocke was not a Fellow of the Royal Society.
