    Formal half-length portrait showing Frank Watson Dyson angled slightly to his right and looking out towards the viewer. He is shown in a wool jacket and waistcoat with a white shirt and patterned tie. His hair is parted in the centre, neatly combed outwards and he is shown with a thick moustache.

    Sir Frank Watson Dyson (1868-1939), British astronomer, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1901. He served as Vice President in 1913-1914 and was awarded the Royal Medal in 1921.
