Description
Botanical studies of flowers of a Gongora orchid native to Central and South America: here styled Gongora loddigesii, possibly Gongora galeata.
The upper figure shows surface detail at x2 magnification, the lower figure a section through the flower at x6 magnification. There is a small detail of anthers also at x6 magnification Inscribed below in pencil: ‘Gongora Loddigensii (x6) A.H.Church delt. Aug. 11 1908.’

Arthur Harry Church was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1921.
