Description
Botanical studies of flowers of Maxillaria tenuifolia, the delicate-leaf Maxillaria, native to Central and South America.
The upper figure shows surface detail at x2 magnification, the lower figure a section through the flower at x6 magnification. There is a small detail of anthers also at x6 magnification Inscribed below in pencil: ‘Maxillaria tenuifolio (x6) A.H.Church delt. June 29 1907.’ Board embossed lower left.

Arthur Harry Church was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1921.
