Description
Postcard-sized design inscribed “THE FAVOUR OF YOUR VOTE & INTEREST IS REQUESTED FOR SIR J. LUBBOCK”. Text on mock scrolls above and below Lubbock’s coat-of-arms within a scroll with botanical decorations including sheafs of wheat. Printed in red, green, black and silver.
Inscribed below: “HOBBS & SONS, CHROMO LITHOGRAPHERS, MAIDSTONE.”
Sir John Lubbock (1834-1913) was Liberal M.P. for Maidstone from 1870 and later a Liberal Unionist. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1858.
