Description
Six figures showing equipment intended to investigate electric arcs including (figure 4) a Leyden jar. Experiments designed and made by Martin van Marum at Teyler’s Museum at Haarlem in the Netherlands.
Plate 5 from Beschryving eene ongemeen groote electrizeer-machine geplaatst in Teyler’s Museum...by Martinus van Marum (Haarlemn, 1785).
The plate is inscribed upper right: ‘Pl. III’; and below “C.H.Koning Fecit.
Martin van Marum was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1798.
