    Landscape near the city of Krasnoyarsk, Siberia in Russia showing farmland with cattle in the foreground. In the distance is a ridge upon which a temporary astronomical observatory stands grouped around an existing small church tower. The observatory was used to record the total solar eclipse visible in Russia on 7 August 1889.

    Extra-illustration pasted before the title-page of the book Eclipse totale du soleil...Aout, 1887....issued in Russian [title page also in French] by the Société physico-chimique Russe (St, Petersburg, 1889).
