Description
Botanical study of the rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum) the tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia. Showing the flowers and fruit of the plant on a single sprig and a detail of the fruit. With a second detail showing a second fruit, the pulasan (Nephelium mutabile).

John Barrow’s voyage to southern Vietnam (Cochinchina) was undertaken as the preliminary to Lord Macartney’s Embassy to China.
John Barrow (1764-1848) was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1805.
