Description
Two elevations of the Eddystone lighthouse, one with cutaway detail; and two cross-sections of the stone structure. This, the third Eddystone lighthouse, was designed and built by the British civil engineer John Smeaton FRS (1724-1792). It was sited on the Eddystone Rocks off the coast of Dorset in England and its lamp was first illuminated in 1759.
