Simplified cross-section of a conventionally designed 1,000kW gas turbine power-plant for oilfield, standby and other applications.
Original illustration (figure 1a) to the paper “World-wide operating experience with 750/1000 kW gas turbines”, by G.B.R. Feilden, presented at the CIMAC Congress, Wiesbaden, June 1959. The paper considers the operating experience of medium power gas turbines and Ruston & Hornsby Ltd., Mark TA gas turbines.
G.B.R.Feilden was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1959. From 1954 he was Engineering Director at Ruston & Hornby Ltd., of Lincoln having joined the company from Frank Whittle’s Power Jets team in 1946.
