Description

Zoological study, dorsal view of the intestine of the marine mollusc Ischnochiton magdalenensis at x4 magnification. From specimens supplied by the Turtox General Biological Supply House, Chicago and collected in California, USA.

Not signed. Typed label pasted to the main drawing lower right with plate title and detailed key to the figure. Some pencilled instructions to the engraver are visible. Embossed lower right: ‘Lifford, Milburn & Co., London’.

Dr Vera Fretter was based successively at Royal Holloway College, Birkbeck College and the University of Reading, where she was a Reader in Zoology.
