Description
Front view of penicillin production machinery employed in shaking flasks of culture medium. The machinery was used in a pilot plant constructed by Dr.Rod Sirivejkul in Bangkok, Thailand.
Captioned verso in ink: “Shaking machine reciprocating type 80-120 r.p.m. (side view)“.
Major Rod Sirivejkul was Chief of the Antibiotic Division, Army Medical Department of Siam (Thailand) based in Bangkok. He corresponded with Sir Howard Florey on penicillin supply to Siam in the period 1951-1959.
