Description
Half-length seated portraits of (left to right): Sir Phillip Watts, Sir Charles Algernon Parsons and Sir William White. All are dressed in evening wear and appear against a neutral, sheeted background.
The reverse has a paper label inscribed in ink with the names of the sitters and a later estimate of date, ‘[circa 1910?]’. With pencil inscriptions upper left, ‘be framed for self’; and upper right, ‘6329/4’.
Sir Philip Watts was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1900.
Sir Charles Algernon Parsons was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1898.
Sir William Henry White was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1888.
