Description
Half length portrait of Sir James McGrigor wearing decorative orders and ribbon and holding a tied sheaf of papers upon which is inscribed: “Reports 1839”.
Inscribed: “H.Room. J.Holl. Printed by McQueen. WHITTAKER & Co. AVE MARIA LANE, 1839.” With a facsimile signature followed by post-nominals.
Sir John McGrigor was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1816.
