Inscribed on separate piece of paper, ‘Alexander Marcet M.D. F.R.S. Hon Prof. Of Chemistry at geneva. Born Aug.1.1770. – Died Oct.19.1822' and pencilled ‘1808’.
Alexander Marcet was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1808.
