    Head and shoulders portrait of Eilhardt Mitscherlich, turned to the right and looking away from viewer. He wears a medal around his neck and a further three medals on his lapel.

    Inscribed ‘Drawn by L’Alemand, Engraved by W.C. Sharpe. PROFESSOR MITSCHERLICH F.R.S.&c. ROYAL UNIVERSITY OF BERLIN’ with facsimilie signature.

    Eilhardt Mitscherlich was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1828.
