Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is a British-American structural biologist, he was elected a Fellow in 2003 and served as President between 2015 and 2020. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2009 for his work in the functions of ribosomes with T A Steitz and A Yonath.
