    Sir D’Arcy Wentworth Thompson (1860-1948) zoologist and classical scholar, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1916.
    Alfred North Whitehead (1861-1947) mathematician and philosopher, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1903.
    Sir Henry Head (1861-1940) neurologist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1899.
