Head and shoulders portrait of Edmund Waller, turned slightly to the right as viewed and looking straight at viewer. He wears ruff with pleated coat. Oval in rectangle frame.
Inscribed ‘Drawn by G. Clint A.R.A. Engraved by W. Bromley A.R.A. EDMUND WALLER. From a Picture by Jansen in the collection of the Reverend Edward Waller. London, Jan.1.1824 Published by W Walker. 5 Grays Inn Square’ and pencilled ‘1663’.
Edmund Waller was an original Fellow of the Royal Society, elected in 1663.
