    Head and shoulders portrait of John Wilmot in profile, turned to the right as viewed. He wears dark jacket, shirt with cravat, and shoulder length hair tied at the back.

    Inscribed ‘John Wilmot’ and pencilled ‘1779’.

    John Eardley Wilmot was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1779.
