Head and shoulder portrait of Edward Wortley Montagu, facing forward with head turned to the right as viewed and looking off to the distance. He wears and long beard and a turban. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘European Magazine. Romney prinxt. Condé sculpt. EDWD. WORTLEY MONTAGU Esq. in his Turkish Dress. published by J. Sewell, 32 Cornhill, 1 April 1793' and pencilled ‘1750’.
Edward Wortley Montagu was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1750.
