Description
Half-length portrait of Thomas Mudge, seated, facing forward. He wears jacket with waistcoat and mid length wig.
Inscribed on separate paper ‘THOMAS MUDGE.’ and pencilled ‘Not FRS’.
Thomas Mudge was not a Fellow of the Royal Society, he was a horologist who invented the lever escapement.
