Half-length portrait of Richard Pulteney, seated facing forward and looking off to left as viewed. Holding book in right hand, he wears shoulder length wig, collarless jacket and shirt with ruffled sleeves.
Inscribed ‘Painted by T. Beach, Engraved by P. Roberts. Richard Pulteney M.D. F.R.S Lond &
Edinb & F.L.S.’ and pencilled ‘1762’.
Richard Pulteney was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1762.
