Description
Half-length portrait of Jesse Ramsden, turned slightly to the left as viewed and looking out to viewer. He wears regency-style coat, white shirt and neck tie. In an oval frame.
Inscribed on separate paper ‘Mr. Ramsden’ and pencilled ‘1786’.
Jesse Ramsden was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1786, he was awarded the Copley Medal in 1795.
