Half-length portrait of Abraham Rees, seated and turned to the right as viewed. He wears regency-style coat with short wig and holds a stick in right hand.
Plate to Imperial Magazine.
Inscribed ‘ Thomson, sculpt' and 'Abraham Rees D. D. F.R.S. F. L. S.’ in ink of separate paper. Pencilled ‘1786’ on paper support.
Abraham Rees was elected a fellow of the Royal Society in 1786.
