    Half-length portrait of James Rennell, in left profile, seated with arms folded. He wears regency-style coat, high collared shirt and cravat.

    James Rennell was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1781, he won the Copley Medal in 1791 for his paper on the rate of travelling as performed by camels.
