Description
Half-length portrait of Prince Rupert, turned to the right as viewed and looking off to distance. He has shoulder length hair and wears armour, deep falling lace collar and medallion hung around his neck. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘illustrissimus & excellenmus princeps, rupertus, comes palatinus ad rhoenu, nobilmi serenishmi potenmi, caroli magnae brittae regis suprem, & geneales equitu dux. Sould by P. Stent’.
Prince Rupert was elected a Royal Fellow of the Royal Society in 1665.
