Description
Head and shoulders portrait of Giovanni Schiaparelli, in three quarter profile, turned to the left as viewed. He wears suit and has short hair, beard and moustache.
Inscribed ‘O. SILVESTRI’ with facsimile signature and pencilled ‘Etching by Oreste Silvestri’.
Giovanni Schiaparelli was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1896.
