Half-length portrait of William Scoresby, facing forward and looking off to the left as viewed. He wears regency-style clothing with high collared shirt and double breasted coat. In an oval composition.
Inscribed ‘A.Mosses del. E. Smith sculp. William Scoresby Junr Esqr. F.R.S. &c&c’ and pencilled ‘1824’.
William Scoresby was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1824.
