Half-length portrait of William Scott, facing forward and looking off to the right as viewed. He wears regency-style clothing with high collared shirt and double breasted coat.
Inscribed ‘LONDON, published for the European Magazine by James Asperne no.32 Cornhill 1st July 1816. The Right Honourable SIR WILLIAM SCOTT, KNT. D.C.L & F.R.S. Judge of the High Court of Admiralty’ and pencilled ‘1793’.
Sir William Scott, Baron Stowell, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1793.
