Half-length portrait of William Seward turned to the right as viewed and looking back to viewer. He wears regency-style coat with ruffled neck tie. In an oval frame.
Inscribed ‘EUROPEAN MAGAZINE. Ridley sculp. WILLIAM SEWARD, Esqr. F.R.S. & A.S.S. Published by J. Sewell, November 1st. 1799’ and pencilled ‘1779’.

William Seward was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1779.
