    Half-length portrait of Sir Martin Archer Shee, facing forward with head turned three quarters to the left as viewed, his elbows are bent at right angles as if resting hands on hips [hands not visible]. He wears regency-style clothing with high collared shirt and double breasted coat.

    Inscribed ‘Seipse pinxt. Thomson sculpt. Sir Martin Archer Shee. Published for the proprietors of the European Magazine, Jany. 1:1824, by Sherwood & Co. Paternoster Row’ and pencilled ‘1831’.

    Sir Martin Archer Shee was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1831.
