Inscribed in pen ‘Sir. John Soane FRS’ and pencilled ‘1821’.
Inscribed on separate paper ‘by Sir Thos. Lawrence. P.R.A. Engraved by J. Thomson. SIR JOHN SOANE R.A. F.R.S. F.S.A.’ with facsimile signature.
Sir John Soane was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1821.
