Description
Head and shoulders portrait of Henry Stebbing, turned slightly to the right as viewed and looking to viewer. He wears short wig with dark jacket, waistcoats and white cravat. Oval in a rectangular frame.
Inscribed in pen on paper support ‘Heny. Stebbing DD FRS’ and pencilled ‘1765’. Also inscribed on separate paper ‘HENRY STEBBING. D.D. F.R.S & F.A.S.’
Henry Stebbing was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1765.
