Landscape view of the cedar tree Cedrus libani with a group of four human figures, apparently servants from Whitfield mansion, standing before the tree, with the house visible in the background.

Headed above: ‘THE REMARKABLE TREES OF HEREFORDSHIRE’. Printed below: ‘THE CEDAR OF LEBANON. WHITFIELD. APRIL, 1869. This handsome tree is situated near the entrance to the mansion at Whitfield. It is about 69 year sold. At 2ft. 6in. from the ground, before giving off any branches, it measures 12ft. 8in. in girth; and at 3ft. high, 10ft. 9in. in circumference. It is about 63ft. in height, and is now growing luxuriantly. This Photograph is kindly presented to the Club by the Rev. Archer Clive. Ladmore and Son, Photographers to the Woolhope Naturalists’ Field Club.’
