    Marine zoological studies of crabs. Figures 1-3 European green crab Carcinus maenas (here styled Cancer littoralis vivus) male and female. Figures 4-5 showing seasonal variations in the egg-bearing female. Figures 6-8 anatomical details.

    Job Baster (1711-1775) Dutch physician and naturalist, was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1738.
