Head and shoulders portrait of Count Rumford in left profile. He wears shoulder length hair, loosely tied and is dressed in military jacket. Sash through left epaulette and decoration pinned to left hand breast of jacket. In an oval frame.

Count Rumford Benjamin Thompson was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1779.
