Description
Half-length portrait of John Tillotson turned slightly to the right as viewed and looking back to viewer. He wears mid length wig and is dressed in cassock and bands. Decorated oval in a rectangular frame with crest and inscription on pedestal.
Inscribed ‘R.White sculp. The most Reverend Dr. John Tillotson late Arch-Bishop of Canterbury’ and pencilled ‘1761.’
John Tillotson was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1672.
